Cheryl Ackerman
Biography
Cheryl Ackerman (PhD in Educational Psychology – Foundations, Texas A&M University, 1997) is a Scientist at the Center. She uses her program evaluation and research methodology expertise to support and lead evaluation work on projects addressing pediatric mental health, rape prevention education, and adolescent social-emotional education and prevention. Before coming to CDHS, Dr. Ackerman evaluated education program and statewide infrastructure development grants in biomedical and environmental sciences in Delaware. She has >20 years of experience helping programs and people develop, serving as a program evaluator, educator, technical assistant, grant writer, organizational leader, and mentor. In addition, Dr. Ackerman has worked on over 25 program evaluations and collaborated on >20 grant proposals: small and large scale projects, multi-year, and interdisciplinary partnerships funded by federal agencies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations. She has authored >80 publications primarily research or evaluation technical reports, and presented >100 presentations of her work. She is also twice a Past President of the Eastern Evaluation Research Society.
